I have a question about the RTC timestamps on the MPA-3. I understand that the RTC units are 50 ns, but in our list data we only see RTC values that end in even numbers printed, indicating that our actual time resolution is 100 ns. Is this normal?
The RTC actually runs with 20MHz, i.e. 50ns resolution.
I suppose you use the DEADTIME signals to capture the current RTC value?
The DEADTIME signal is internally synchronized to 10MHz. Thus, you can detect ADC events only with 100ns resolution.
Only usage of the AUX inputs results in 50ns resolutions.
