Transientenrecorder, Waveform Digitizer, sometimes simply called Analog-To-Digital-Converter - are all the same name for the same solution. The names may differ with different scientific communities and different application fields. We prefer Waveform Digitizer. Complementary devices are Arbitrary Waveform Generators, they are able to replay waveforms.

Waveform Digitzers operate in principle like a storeage oscilloscope. They provide the possibility to record signalbehaviour over a predefined time. 

Application fields are e.g. research and development, laboratory equipment, medical equipment, spectroscopy, Radar, Laser Acoustics etc.

The M2p59xx-series is a new generation of waveform digitizers with 16 bit resolution with a wide range of sampling rates from 5 MS/s up to 125 MS/s. The standard on board memory is 512 MS (1 GB). Sustained streaming mode up to 700 MB/s.

The M4i.44xx-x8 series includes PCIe cards with either two or four synchronous channels where each channel has its own dedicated ADC. The ADC’s can sample at rates from 130 MS/s up to 500 MS/s and are available with either 14 bit or 16 bit resolution.

The M4i.22xx-x8 series digitizers deliver the highest performance in both speed and resolution. The series includes PCIe cards with either one, two or four synchronous channels. The ADCs can sample at rates from 1.25 GS/s up to 5 GS/s with a maximum bandwidth of up to 1.5 GHz.

The M4i.77xx-x8 series digital waveform acquisition (logic-analyzer) cards include versions with 32
synchronous channels, either singleended with programmable threshold levels or differential. The large onboard memory can be segmented to record different waveform sequences.

The M2p.65xx series offers different versions of arbitrary waveform generators for PCI Express with a maximum output rate of 125 MS/s.

The M4i.66xx-x8 series arbitrary waveform generators deliver the highest performance in both speed and resolution with 16 bit and 1.25 GS/s.

The connection link between the user and the hardware is an easy-to-use software SBench (WINDOWS and LINUX). Several drivers for graphical and text-based programming are available for LabVIEW, Agilent VEE or DASYLab.

The M2p and M4i card families offer a wide range of options that enlarge the application range where the boards can be used : ring buffer mode, FIFO mode,  multiple recording, gated sampling, timstamps, ABA mode (dual time base), Base XIO (enhanced trigger), Star-Hub (up to 16 boards can be combined and synchronized),  external clock I/O, reference clock, special clock option (extra quartz oscillator), external trigger I/O, analog trigger, pattern trigger enhanced trigger modes, spike trigger (slope)

M2p.65xx-x4 - 16 bit 125 MS/s Arbitrary Waveform Generator

The M2p.65xx series offers different versions of arbitrary waveform generators for PCI Express with a maximum output rate of 125 MS/s.
These boards allow to generate freely definable waveforms on several channels synchronously.

M4i.66xx-x8 - 16 bit 1.25 GS/s Arbitrary Waveform Generator

The M4i.66xx-x8 series arbitrary waveform generators deliver the highest performance in both speed and resolution. The series includes PCIe cards with either one, two or four synchronous channels. The large onboard memory can be segmented to replay different waveform sequences.
