The actual MCA-3 software is able to save in sequential mode individual spectra immediately after each completed cycle and this way allows very low deadtime between individual measurements (about 14 msec for 2k spectra).

FAST ComTec's "ultra fast" Multiscalers P7887, P7888 and the P7889, now have also the capability of evaluating list files (replay) in the software like our model MCS6. For the P7889 a "Software CFT" method is now implemented. Due to the capability of detecting both edges of a pulse the time resolution can be impressively enhanced.

<title>New: FAST TD2000, GHz Timing Preamplifiers and a GHz Discriminator

      <description>
FAST ComTec has introduced the TA line of next-generation GHz-range Timing Preamplifiers and the TD series leading edge Timing Discriminator that are packaged in compact preamplifier sized enclosure. These dc-coupled input units offer significant advantages in picosecond timing with ultra-fast detectors.

Primary applications are in TOF-mass spectrometry, LIDAR,  single-photon-counting,  fluorescence/phosphorescence lifetime spectrometry and related pulse processing applications where the DC-coupling feature can prevent peak shifts due to counting rate variations that are inherent with the AC-coupled devices available previously.

The compact design makes it possible to mount the preamplifiers close to the detector to avoid degradation of the sub-nanosecond signals caused by cable capacitance and noise pickup. </description>

<title>Model TA2400 Fast Pulse / Timing Preamplifier, 2.4 GHz, DC-coupled

      <description>
The TA2400, a fast pulse preamplifier with a signal bandwidth of 2.4 GHz. To our knowledge the TA2400 is the only high speed amplifier with a bandwidth over 2 GHz that is DC coupled. DC coupling avoids count rate related amplitude shifts due to non DC balanced pulse trains and the corresponding coupling capacitor charging. Similar to the TA1800 a test with a 30mV P-P pulse and a P7889 100ps TOF analyzer showed an improvement of 10...15% in peak width (FWHM) when a TA2400 was used for amplification of the small pulse signal.	  </description>
